staffSeptember 7th Polson Family Update

We’ve had a great start to the 2025-26 school year. Students have been settling into learning routines and getting to know teachers and classmates. Some teachers are planning fall trips, so please ensure that you’re registered for School Day Permissions and Payments where information and permission forms school trips and sports will be posted.  Codes will be sent home to unregistered families. For questions, contact the office or your child’s teacher.

We ended the week with a schoolwide outdoor assembly to welcome everyone. Thanks to our student MCs, Dale and Oliver for welcoming staff and students and kicking off our first dance party!

We encourage families to stay connected through our website weekly updates, events calendar, and classroom updates. Your involvement makes a world of difference, and we’re grateful for your partnership!

School Organization 2025-26

As always, our school organization and enrollment numbers are reviewed at the start of the year to assess whether changes need to be made.  Staffing committee has approved our organization of 11 French Immersion classes and 8 English classes for the remainder of the year with a few class moves to balance out numbers and adhere to primary caps. We will communicate necessary student moves to parents/guardians during the week of September 8th.

Dropoff & Pickup Safety

Thank you for making sure our students are safe by observing traffic rules and parking restrictions during arrival and dismissal times.

· A reminder that the zone in front of the school is a school bus loading zone.  No parking, idling, or drop-offs are permitted.

· Please do not park or drop off children in the parking lot area close to portables and do not park in the no-parking zone of the lot.

· Please do not leave children unattended at school prior to 9:00 am when yard supervision begins.

Safety is a team effort.  Thank you for being watchful, patient, and alert at all times!

Lunchbox Hot Lunch Orders Coming Soon!

Families will be able to order pizza and subs for students through the LunchBox website. Lunchbox Orders

The LunchBox website is very user friendly, and it should only take a couple of minutes to set up an account online. If you already have an account, please re-assign your child to the appropriate teacher when it is confirmed for the remainder of the school year. Hot lunch orders will continue to support student activities with a small portion of each sale coming back to our school.

Running Club

Polson has a very active running club for grades 3-6 students. We have practices on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 8:30 a.m. beginning on Thursday, September 11th weather permitting. Coaches have scheduled an information meeting with interested students on Monday, September 7th at 1st recess. We're training both for fun and fitness and for the Fort Henry races on October 16 and 22!  Thank you to parent and staff coaches for supporting this activity!

Attendance Matters!

We’re committed to supporting regular attendance at Polson and throughout the Limestone District School Board. We’ll share tips for building healthy habits, address any attendance concerns and offer support to families. Let us know if you need assistance promoting school attendance.
