What’s Happening at Polson!

It’s been a chilly start to spring! Thank you to our school advisory council for the plentiful supply of mittens, hats & neckwarmers for students who have needed them.  We hope you are able to join us at our parent council meeting on Tuesday, March 31st! As we look ahead to the long weekend, we wish you a happy Passover & Easter to all who celebrate!

Scholastic Book Fair Coming Soon

Next month, Polson will once again be hosting the Scholastic Book Fair! Roughly 1/3 of the proceeds come back into classrooms through Scholastic credits. These credits are used to make purchases from the Scholastic Catalogue such as additional math tools, games to strengthen literacy skills, organizational tools, reference materials for desks, self-regulation tools, and of course books to fill our classroom libraries!

The book fair cannot run without the help of volunteers to work the cash. If you have time and are wiling to help out, please contact Mme Underhill at underhillw@limestone.on.ca. Volunteers are needed on Wednesday April 15th and Thursday April 16th from 9am-11am, and 11:40am-1pm. Volunteers are required to have a CPIC with a vulnerable screener check.

Also, this year we will once again be doing a book trade! This was a big hit last year. If you have gently used children's books at home that you are willing to part with, please send them to school and we will provide them for other students to take home during the book fair, free of charge!

Staffing Updates

Staff and students said farewell to head caretaker, Mr. Tom Breeden, on Friday.  “Mr. Tom” accepted a position closer to home that begins on Monday, March 30th.  We will miss him and wish him well at his new school.  As well, Ms. Scott will be going on leave earlier than expected as she awaits the arrival of her new baby.  We will keep you posted as we proceed with the staffing process.
