Polson Family Update June 14, 2026
What's Happening at Polson
This week we will welcome our newest Panthers who will be starting kindergarten next year at Polson. All registered students and their families were sent an invitation to attend our Discovering Kindergarten Open House on Wednesday, June 17th. If you need help with registration or did not receive an invitation, please contact the main office.
We will also celebrate our outgoing grade six students on Thursday as they wrap up their time at Polson and are off to new schools next year. We are so proud of all your efforts and accomplishments. Once a Panther, always a Panther!
Fantastic Fun Fair at Polson!
The rain held off, and our Polson Fun Fair was a big hit. It was so wonderful to see so many families come out in support of this event and the purchase of a new slide for our playground! Thank you so much to our amazing parent council for organizing the best school fun fair in Kingston and to the many parent, staff and student volunteers who gave their time to make it happen!
Sun Safety & Tick Awareness
Thanks for checking your calendar for another busy week. We have several activities and trips scheduled outdoors. Thanks for making sure that your child is prepared with protective hats, classes, and water bottles. If your child brings sunscreen to school, thanks for avoiding strong scents and sprays that may get on others! As well, it’s tick season, so please check for ticks following outdoor play.
Message from Southeast Public Health
In light of the recent media release from Southeast Public Health, if your student has been ill with diarrhea, they are advised to wait 14 days after diarrhea has stopped before visiting splash pads or swimming again.
Students are also reminded to wash hands often with soap and water. Hand sanitizer does not work against cryptosporidium. Hands should be washed before eating and after using the toilet.
If your student is currently ill with severe diarrhea or diarrhea that has lasted more than 48 hours, Southeast Public Health recommends they follow up with a health-care provider.
Congrats to our Track & Field participants who competed at the District Championship finals! Merci to our incredible coaches for all your support this season!
Congrats to our Ultimate Frisbee team for a fantastic season! Thank you to our staff and parent coaches!
