Polson Family Update: April 12, 2026
What’s Happening at Polson!
Manie Musicale!
Merci to Mme Lowry for organizing this year’s Manie Musicale assembly when the winning French song was revealed. Students in French Immersion and Core French programs experienced a wide range of songs and voted for their favourites to advance through the brackets. Given the inspiring voyage of the Artemis II, it’s perhaps fitting that the artist, Maheva won Manie Musicale 2026 with the song, “Toucher la lune”!
Staffing Updates
Welcome to Mason Berg who will be joining our Polson staff teaching grade 4/5. As well, we are pleased to announce that Trevor Wisteard will be our new head caretaker beginning on April 27th.
Glow Family Dance-April 15th
Thank you to our parent council members who have volunteered to organize this week’s Family Dance. The Glow Dance will take place on Wednesday, April 15th 6-8 pm. Admission is $2 per Polson student. Students must be accompanied and supervised by an adult who will have free admission. There will be a DJ and canteen and some black lights to reflect the fluorescent fashion! Don’t forget that it’s also a Glow Spirit Day on Wednesday!
If you're able to volunteer for part of the event, that would be very helpful! Please use the spring dance sign-up form here to connect with our SAC Chair, Sarah Etienne.
Thank you to all of our volunteer coaches for getting running club off to a great start!

Message from Polson SAC: Polson Needs Bingo Volunteers!
Help us raise funds for Polson in the easiest way possible! After 30 minutes of online training, volunteers have a two-hour shift at the Community Spirit Gaming Centre on a Friday evening once every other month.
This is the single most impactful (and did we mention easiest?) thing parents can do for Polson Park. Your only responsibility during the shift is to be a friendly face that represents our school.
These bingo shifts raise an average of $1,500 for Polson every month. The funds go toward field trips, equipment upgrades, movie nights, dances and more. They allow our students to enjoy activities and much-needed enhancements to the school without having to ask families to engage in more labour-intensive fundraising activities.
But we need more volunteers to keep this income stream coming in! Spend two hours daydreaming, chatting or just getting your steps in - it's super low commitment and incredibly valuable to our school community.
For more info or to sign up, please contact Ben at polsonsac.bingo@gmail.com.
See you there!
