May continues to bring loads of busy fun here at Polson. Last week featured end of year field trips (Can you believe it?!), soccer tournaments, track and field practices, ultimate frisbee practices, EQAO practice tests, Words Matter Day, the last of the April Attendance draw prizes being awarded, Cycle Kingston presentations, and, as always, an abundance of learning, growth, and fun. Please note that Friday May 29, 2026 is a PA Day and that there will be no classes for students. Staff will be working on reviewing assessments and preparing reports.

The Lip Sync Shows on Wednesday May 27th and Thursday May 28th will feature over 40 performance groups over the course of the two days! Amazing! We can't wait to see the outstanding performances that students have been creatively concocting. It will be a real treat to see the talent on stage on the gym this Wednesday and Thursday at 2:15pm. Families are welcome to attend and information about students' performance dates will be shared with you by homeroom teachers.

Class Building  & Student Moves 2026-27

Our educators put a great deal of thought into student class placements and take many factors into account including student strengths, areas of need, and peer groupings that will maximize learning when we build our class cohorts. We also value additional information that parents and caregivers may want to share about their child, but we ask that this should focus on aspects of your child’s learning profile rather than requests for a specific teacher.  Please be assured that all our teachers offer rich educational opportunities for students at Polson. We have worked hard to implement consistency in effective instructional practices at Polson.

Moving Schools or Switching Programs?

If your family is moving, and your child will be attending a new school in September, please contact the school as soon as possible so that we can remove  support a smooth transition for next year.

If you are considering a program move for your child from French Immersion to English, please reach out to our school team prior to the end of the year to consult with us about options and supports available that will help you make an informed decision. Please be aware that students may be in our catchment area for French Immersion but not for the regular program.
