One student on Dec. 19. This case was already isolating and does not require any additional cohorts to isolate.

Additional cases: one student on Dec. 18, two students on Dec. 16, three students on Dec. 15, and one staff member on Dec. 13. Earlier cases have resolved.

Public Health declared an outbreak on Dec. 4.

As per provincial Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education guidance, an outbreak is declared in a school once it has been determined that two individuals have tested positive for COVID-19 with an epidemiological link (meaning these students/staff could have become infected with COVID-19 at school, either from each other or a common source), within a 14-day period.

KFL&A Public Health works closely with schools to ensure that necessary steps are taken to prevent further spread of the virus both in the school and the community.

Families are encouraged to continue to monitor and screen students daily for symptoms of COVID-19 as most cases of COVID-19 are acquired in the home setting. Please continue to follow all public health guidelines which include maintaining physical distance, wearing face coverings, and cleaning your hands frequently.

Cases in schools must be reported locally and provincially. We are sharing this information with you to ensure you have accurate information. No further information will be released to maintain privacy.

Please visit the COVID-19 Confirmed Cases webpage for a list of current cases.
